The American life is it what we think it is? I hope not but it seems as though more, and more we are being forced to think what we think! 

Does the sociological perspective encourage us to view people as victims?

The sociological perspective is the special point of view of sociology that sees general patterns of society in the lives of particular people.

The sociological perspective does encourage us to view people as victims. The society has made the victim role a reality and has personalized it. This is true because as Lynne Forrest states , “Whether we know it, or not, most of us react to life as victims. Whenever we refuse to take responsibility for ourselves, we are unconsciously choosing to react as a victim. This inevitably creates feelings of anger, fear, guilt or inadequacy and leaves us feeling betrayed, or taken advantage of by others.”

No, we as people show ourselves as victims. We have shown ourselves as victims for many years. We think that the mentality of showing our victimized minds which tells us to be looked at as victims.  In a way that we see ourselves as victims and we show ourselves as victims. The sociological perspective does not encourage us to be seen as victims we encourage ourselves because we start to get greedy and then love the spotlight too much. Once we’re seen as the victim we stay the victim. Sociological perspective can determine the people who show themselves as victims but to be seen and encourage to be a victim is our choice because the image we put out is what we’re going to be seen as. To be seen as a victim and encouraged to be a victim and encouraged to be a victim is difficult to be explained. A victim is a person who like the state of mind of always having to have the spotlight. The society’s view of these people are too sympathetic.

The little rays that fly around my sunrise. As it smiles and shines the brightess light that could put darkness to shame. As petite and beautiful as it can and always will be, the shining light that glows around the muse in my day. I want to be with it but not alone in the least as the wind blows it shows the essence in its beauty . It may not know its own power, but as it is used everyday in the deepest ways; I will show gratitude in the most precious way. Reflection of Freshman Year!

               In middle school I was academically above the rest in my class, but my social life was not normal. This year my freshman year was a success. My mindset when I got here was to keep to myself and just to keep up with my grades. I wasn't really looking for friends but just to do my work and get good grades. I have always been an over achiever but sometimes it can be bad and sometimes its good. This year I have joined many clubs, and I got the grades I wanted except for one.  But after all I think I did more than I expected. I made friends right away had a bunch of girlfriends and well what can be said except that could anything have been any better maybe but no not really. My teacher was great except for a few but I just worked with it. My grades for once are where I want them and I finally did better then I was even hoping for. Many things I thought weren’t going to happen for me this year did, and I was surprised around every corner. I had caring friends who told me what I needed to do even when I didn't they kept me on track, but they also dragged along on they stupid B.S. stuff. My first teachers are the ones I'll always remember they showed me the ropes of the education game.  Being a freshman was difficult at first because if you are going to a school that you don’t know anyone who wants to go around trying to talk to people so it took a minute for me to really start talking to many of the people here. I think things just get easier as the year goes on and you start to notice I’m a person here too. My freshman year was better than I thought it would be but I wish I could have done more.

Teacher Bullies Student

A teacher is very out raged in the way he is treating one of his special education students. A New Jersey teacher is trying to keep his job is in court trying to prove his innocent because of the media that was caused by the outburst towards one of his students. The teacher commented saying that his temper just overwhelmed him and he did not hold back. The child had went home many times before though and his parents did not believe him so instead he thought one day I'll just recorded him and then show them the video. He did this and the teacher would pay for his bullying crimes toward his students. T his is a case that many parents and principles don't look for in the people that work and teacher the children. This was going on for so long so tell me why did it take so long for these parents to figure out how their children is being treated in the class room. 

Many children are being abused through words by their inconsiderate teachers on a daily bases. But when your children come home and try to explain that their teacher are doing these things you show no kind of emotion and expect that they are lying to you because they must have did something. What do you expect of your children if you don't listen to them when they do try to come and talk to you but instead you push them away and unless they have proof that this is going on you don't think twice let me help my child and rectify the problem that he or she is trying to tell me. Many teachers think they can get away with saying and doing anything to your child because they already expect you to turn your child away unless you hear physical abuse happening to them then you want to get all high and mighty with that teacher and its been going on for as long as a couple months.teacher bullies students

I Believe

The I Believe program is a program that has you write about real life experiences. You have the opportunity to tell your story to millions of people across the web. While you write about a important experience that you went through you get to give all your feelings out on paper and tell the one experience that changed everything from your life to the world. Right now I am going to respond to one of the writers who wrote a article about talking to strangers.

she believed that talking to strangers were bad at first because that's what everyone told her until one day there was this old guy who came in almost every week on the same day so one day she started a conversation and ever since that day they talked and talked. from that she learned talking to strangers help them and its helps you.

I Believe talking to strangers is a alright thing but you still should watch who you talk to. but talking to  a stranger is sometimes in your best interest because you never know if the person you talk to can get you into a school you want get you a job you been hoping for and it could just help you have a good day in the long run. I once talked to a stranger and it was just a usual conversation about the weather and what ever else happened in the day we sat there on the bus and talked away and we didn't know each other. When we got to the end of our conversation i had found out she was a teacher from drexel and i wanted to be in the drexel art program and she told me next time i sigh up for it she would interview me herself and i would be there. that was the first time i talked to a stranger and it helped me out in life.

Wrong Words to Say and Is TV really diverse as they say?

The thoughts on certain channels that are diverse don't get as much reconization as non diverse shows. The non diverse shows can say and do what they feel they want to do and they get away with it, but the point to this is that diverse shows are the exact opposite to them.  The author tells of how television is nowhere near diverse enough and I also think this is true if the shows were more diverse maybe most shows would not be canceled, but because there is still people believe in the racial difference and everything these days people still use that to their advantage. TV has changed over the past few years but the people still look at the non diverse shows more then they do the ones that are diverse the things in people minds are just to far back in the past and no one really try to change it but they think that one show here and there will make people not notice well a whole bunch of people did and now I hope they start to become more self conscious of what they do. Stop canceling shows because the people that get put in there are, NOT THE SAME AS THEM AND THIS JUST MAKE PEOPLE FEEL MORE OUT OF PLACE LIKE NO ONE REALLY IS WORRIED ABOUT HOW PEOPLE ARE TREATED! This is not the way the 21st century is suppose to treat people right. The TV stations are inconsiderate with the comments or jokes they make on there shows and don't understand that the things that are said might not refer to a certain person but it refers to something that you thought about in your head and how you feel about the things or people you talk about. Its not pretty for the stars of the show to be able to say what they want and there is no repercussions to their acts even if it was just part of the script. They need to start taking the time out  to inform their actors that certain subjects should not be said on live Tv. It matters what you say when you say it .

People are Out of They Minds.

A story from the New York Times, called “ New Fashion: Wrinkle Stylishly Hiding the Gun”, by Matt Richtel. He talks about how a new fashion statement from Wool rich a 182-year-old clothing company has started to makes cloths that can hide concealed weapons. They have a new pair of pants called Chino’s. The company added a number of pockets to the pants right behind the traditional pockets to work for multiple weapons. There are pockets that are used as a holster and a pocket for knives and also a flashlight. These Chino pants are for fashionable people and they cost $65. The company started concealed weapon cloths because the number rises in gun permits. There were many comments from the people that have worn the concealed clothing some most comments were talking about how other concealed weapon cloths are not as comfortable as Wool rich wear. Everyone loves these new Chinos. These new options in clothing were called “tactical”, but now they are starting to be called by the names such as “concealed carry”, and “covert fashion”.

These new clothes are made of comfortable garments such as moisture wicking fabric. The demands have doubled in the last year alone for this type of clothing.

Traditional stores such as Dick’s Sporting Goods and Cabelas are also selling covert fashion. There are many reasons for the carry permits going up is that 37 states that now have a “ shall issue” statue, which requires that, an applicants can pass legal requirements.  But there are a bunch of other states that allow concealed weapons. Many say that this will bring crime ratings down if people have to think twice before they do anything, but that just a opinion.

The cloths the guns and all of it is just going overboard because there is no reason for anyone to have these cloths because no one has the right mind to carry a gun in any states except for police and even some of them don’t deserve too. This article was just a waste of writing, and waste of making those cloths. Doesn’t make sense.

Abortion should have never been Legalized

Between the ages of 13-18 teens years of ages parents should stress abstinence. Senior Sierra Blagman and Shayira at Parkway West High School on 4/13/12 Health Fair at Parkway took place, both students stressed the dislike of abortion. Abortion, by having abortions it hurts the person physically and mentally. No one listens when people say its a life lost. In 1973 abortion was legalized. The statistics say 50,000,000 unborn children lost to abortion. There are many programs to help prevent pregnancy in young women. One of these programs is Youth Empowerment Program on Broad street JFK building on the 9th floor. 


Here is a interview with Senior Shayira and she said, "the research was a success, because I got my fellow students involved and I spread the word."
She also said,"the research was a failure because I didn't get all the information I wanted."


Sierra Blagman did the same research paper and had the same point of view on abortion.


Life begins when your a fetus. When a young girl gets pregnant she only thinks of one way things can become right and that is abortion. There are so many options for their baby , one is adoption, and another is you can give your baby to the hospital once its born and they will keep it for one year and take care of it but when that year is up they will give the baby to the adoption agencies. Abortion is the highest death rate riding on 14.5 million. 


This is what Senior Sierra Blagman said, "I believe abortion should be illegal in the United States."


For both girls there last comment was ,"abortion is unfair to the unborn."


ABORTION is a murder that is unaccounted for the people that do it should be in jail just like any other murders.

Killer Found!!!!!!!!!!

The killer has been found.Jennifer Hudson's family killer has finally been found. The murder trial begun on Monday, April 9,2012. It is very hard for the justice system to find people who won't be persuaded by her popularity. Jennifer Hudson has felt pain for quit a while but when this trial starts she plans on being there everyday. Jennifer is one of 300 possible witnesses according to www.cbsnews.com . Jennifer Hudson is being told that she must not show facial feelings in court while court is in session . They only say this because they think that it will coarse the jurors. Most of these potential jurors say they don't care about her popularity and they can judged the murder accordingly. The killer of Jennifer Hudson's family is Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister.

This killing is not right but I hope that he will be prosecuted for what he has done. Go to hudson family killerto find out the whole story. Jennifer's family did not deserve what happened to them. I hope Hudson is okay but life can change in a instance , and you just have to deal with it. So court has started and will go on for 36 weeks. Hudson and many others may have to talk in court, even if justice isn't served God will make sure things will happen that should happen. Many feel the pain that of this families death , but it seems as though their trying to take this serious but it seems as though this trial may not make it far.

Chocolate bad or good!

According to losing weight while eating chocoalateThere is new research on the stages of chocolate making you skinny. How is this so ,because as research has identified that if you consume alot of chocolate and not slow your eating it down. But it seems drastic that chocolate can make you skinny. 


Every year they tell us that eating to much sweets can give us sick or diabetics etc. But lets look at it this way if you eat a lot of it then your metabolism quickens and you loose weight. They are telling us that its not about eating a certain chocolate but how much you consume. There telling us for diabetics that it will help us regulate our diabetes better, we will consume our insulin more securely while that will bring our sugars down. Dark chocolate is the better choice though because it is made of pure chocolate and much of nothing else. The more chocolate you ate the more calories you intake but that didn't ruin anything. You don't have to intake alot of chocolate in one sitting but you have to eat a little everyday. The chocolate companies did not to a testing on this they just made the chocolate. 


Students at my school thinks that the take on chocolate is this, 1. People think that it is not true in many ways. We don't think that in taking chocolate as they will help us.2 Chocolate is bad for you. How is chocolate going to make us skinny. The only good thing in chocolate is the cocoa.3 No, I think that chocolate makes you fatter because of the per taking of the sugar.

Most Births Outside Marriage

Two writers by the name of Joan Deparle and Sabrina Tavernise wrote a article by the title of "For Women Under 30 ,Most Births Occur Outside Marriage". This article talks of how that most women under 30 about 41% in 2009,are having children before marriage and most of them are single mothers on there own.most of this is happening in Middle America. 


There use to be a time when men and women would not have sexual relations until they were married. A book named "Coming Apart " by a author named Charles Murray who as we know is a critic of non marital births. H e has come up with statistics that states 73% of black , 53% of Latino, and 29% of white  children are born outside of marriage. I think that this trend of having children before marriage ruins the life of the children you bring into this world. This child is going to go through trauma because she/he will see so many children with two parents and she will start to wonder why she/he has only one parent. when you explain ,it will make them wonder is it my fault my parent left me. These questions will start a snow ball affect of disappointment of their life. 


I think that my parents being married or unmarried really doesn't make much of a difference in any case. I was raised fine and I don't think it could be better or worse. I expect to get get married. I want to have a family, but the right way. I am going to wait to have children until I get married, because no kid is secured to do what is right if things aren't right when life started before them.

The Biggest Oil Spill in U.S. History

The biggest oil spill in U.S. history,has started to be dealt with. They been trying to settle this with a settlement. The oil spill covered oil of the Gulf of Mexico along the water ways.

The BP is expecting to pay out 7.8 billion to cover the spill. People that live along the Gulf of Mexico are waiting to be paid for the damages of there resources, and if they don't think their paid enough they can sue. There was a settlement on Friday by the BP and everyone knows not the end. The soucre on CBS.com has said "The U.S. is trying to help the 5 states of the Gulf to make sure any damage claims that have been field are somehow restored for the benefit of the Gulf people."In August 2010 the people started to either get their money directly from BP on Feinburg run fund. The Feinburg Run Fund had $20 billion for it to be able to pay off individuals, businesses, environmental damage, and state and local response cost.

This spill managed to destroy many such as beaches, killed wildlife, and closed fishing areas. Many people sued like fishermen, cleanup workers , and others. These people either got sick , jobs were destroyed, and claimed harm from the spill in April 20,2010 gulf disaster. This happened one of the largest class action settlement. FACEBOOK IS USING YOU

Lori Andrews article "Facebook is using you"tells how people people are sending,searching,and emailing on the computer is now profiling you by what you do on the Internet.People that don't know you are that are across the Internet ,now can determine you by what you do on the Internet.There using what you do and making profile of you for them and everyone else.

Before I read this article  Facebook is using you I thought this, I don't worry because I don't think anybody would want to black mail me. I always have some information that could ruin the person who is trying to ruin me.So, sending messages  I never really send anything personal, and if I did I know that they're trusting and wouldn't let it out. So to conclude , messaging isn't a big deal to me I don't think my stuff will be revealed.

But after reading this article it surprised me that this could be.

And after this was my train of thought, I am a little worried and I still don't do anything incriminating. But the only thing that worries me more is that they can find my addresses, numbers, and anything for that matter.I didn't ever think that what I do on the Internet defines me as a person. How can Facebook have the right to do what they are doing I do not agree how things are being done. But incriminating yourself who would have ever thought you could do it to yourself . BUT IT MAY NOT BE SAFE!

Students at Penn State Raise Money for Pediatric Cancer Patients

The weekend of 2/17/12 Penn state hosted a dance marathon.They raised 10.68M for pediatric cancer patients.Penn state host this annual dance marathon every year.Last year they pulled in 9.5 M which was a record.The students call what they host a "THON". Paterno's son,Jay had encouraging words for the students in the "Thon" which informed them to not look at the Sex Scandal people put on the school but instead look at the positive things they have done.


But I think that all the positive stuff they have doesn't matter in the cities eyes when a scandal is under way. And what a scandal it was!


PSU students have done great for their school and they always keep succeeding , it seems as though whatever they do they never fail and that makes them great in the peoples eyes.As long as they do what is needed no one can say anything unperturbed about their school.

The students at PSU should be so honored that they have raised so much for these cancer patients.The schools news in the last few months should not be used to show who they really are.I still look at this school  for all the work they have done.they are always  working for the people of the world.I like the way they do things.I would be so proud if my school would do the same . PSU DANCE THON RAISES 10.68M.

so we should all be cheering them.They have achieved greatness.


Greatness can always be achieved, but it takes very determined people to do it!

Are We Criminals?

People look at themselves innocently and instead you are a criminal just not in the worlds eyes.everyone has done some kind of crime big or small.

A lady by the name of Michelle Alexander from CNN has wrote a article called "I'm a criminal and so are you". I think that she is right ,we are criminals ,but we haven't done big crimes .Our crimes are small like J walking,littering,and drinking under age.

Ms. Michelle Alexander thinks that people should think of themselves of criminals,because everyone has done crime in their life.So they think that the people who are in jail are the only criminals. And then she bought it another perspective most people that have never been arrested think when they look at black people that we must have done something criminally.

This status that has been put out there by people about criminals;needs to be changed. The conviction of most criminals are wrongly accused about 25% of the time.So i asked people about the subject and they said this:

Sherice Nelson said," I think that its okay. i think that some of these laws needs to be changed."

Johanna Peart said , "Its awful.things need to change for all people and the system just isn't working."


Why is it they we black people get looked at funny when we walk around like were a bunch of criminals. but when white people walk around there close enough to God almighty that they cant do no wrong. Aren't we all people with no definition to the since of the word. Look at us do we look or seem like the type of people that everyone ,must criticize even though we may or may not have done right or wrong.

Apple Explosion

The iPad factory in China and almost every other factory are not following the safety guidelines. In which are harming their workers in which they have been sending notices to inform them of the safety hazards they have not been following.

Last May on a Friday evening, there was a explosion at the apple iPad factory (in China.) The cause of the explosion was aluminum dust. There air shafts was not open enough, so as the aluminum dust builds up there was a spontaneous combustion. Many were hurt some worst then others some worst then others.One man by the name of Lai Xiaodong was badly burned ,skin had 3rd degree burns,and many were rushed to the hospital.

People live on Apple Products , but the questions is though will people make apple change the ways of the people work safety?The people who tried to help Nike change needs to do the same with Apple.These people are being treated with the up most disrespect. People where hurt and now hopefully Apple may learn the harms of not following the safety guide lines. Apple needs to take the responsibility for the unthinkable things that been happening. People should sue for so much because now they know what's been happening . Apple needs to pay for there carelessness.

Photoshopped

There has always been digitally photo shopped pictures. But now its being talked about. A article was written by Steve Lohr about how many photos have been photoshopped.


The article talks of how people photo shopped photos and when people who aren't as perfect as the photo,start to not eat and or hurt themselves in ways that aren't necessary.Photoshopping is not a horrible thing but it makes the people of not perfect bodies or unique abilities they think that their worth nothing and they need to be look  a certain way. 


This explains the state of mind people should be in when they are trying to photoshop the image of their body. Being perfect is nothing and it is overrated.The human body is what it is.The body is something that the world needs to stop trying to fix . The rate of death from suicides from this kind of thing is high and it goes up periodically. Because of the way people make people feel about themselves look and this may or may not be true.The world is bullying ,teasing,and people are just cruel to one another. People of this world dont know how to conduct themselves to act like civilized people, there is no who has no kind of bodly thing wrong with them. We are not perfect so stop trying to make us show the people who you really are inside and out.


It is overboard why must you go overboard on the way you look . Be who you are is what everyone now and then people say but  who really listens any more. stop being fake I hate the way people try and be real when everything is wrong about themselves.

CRACKING TEENAGERS ONLINE CODES

In this article it explores a child's Internet ,outside,and home life. In this article it shows how a woman by the name of Dr.Boyd has done research on how parents ,teachers etc. think that most dangers are on the Internet but its not. 


This article tells of how Dr.Boyd does  research on facebook and twitter and the young subjects of her research usually follow her on social media websites. A quote that caught me by surprise is that she said"we need to give kids the freedom to explore and experience things that might actually helped them". Dr. Boyd  has been through many problems herself. Such as her parents being divorced and hanging out with the wrong crowd of kids at school. 


she used to use the Internet as a way to help her by talking to people just like her or adults that could explain the reason things were happening and how they could help.


The article to me is right so many parents are scared for their children to be on the Internet because of what they think might happen. But the Internet is not as bad as they try to make it. But the stuff your children do on the Internet or say are already usually being done in your home or at school. Parents need to let there children explore the freedom that the living has givens them and stopped trying to ban everything.


For me using the Internet helped me through rough patches in my life because I found people like me to talk to. Because writing and talking to people I know personally wasn't enough .


I hope this article helps the parents see the way somethings should work and how you should trust your child.

DETH PENALTY IS NEEDED

Capital punishment is the death penalty. The death penalty is a law that should be used in every state. The death penalty is a way for ours nation’s families to feel the closure they need. On April 1, 2008 37 states were giving the right to use the death penalty. As of January 1, 2008, 3,350 convicted murderers were awaiting execution on Death Row in the U.S.The death penalty is used for many reasons and most people deserve to be put to death. If the justice system was not able to use the death penalty then we would have many murders on our streets.

Some families take the death penalty as a way of mourning. Ronald Carlson wanted vengeance when his sister was murdered in 1983 in Texas.  But when he witnessed the execution in 1998 of the person who committed the murder he changed his mind. When families try to mourn their loss one it is difficult to know that the killer is still alive and is able to haunt you were ever you are. A death sentence brings a feeling 0f relief or at least a feeling of knowing that the horrible killer is gone.

The death penalty is needed. If we didn’t have this death penalty many of our killers would roam free or just sit in jail cells which many killers would love because they love to hear about what they have done. The prosecutor of these death crimes should have more leeway of torture to minimize crime. Many have a saying “an eye for an eye “so shouldn’t that also be pushed to say a death for a death. Even the bible advocates death for murder and other crimes like kidnapping and witchcraft.  

The justice system is in a need to be fixed. And the first thing is that they need to stop caring so much about the criminals and instead care more about our victims. Today, one of the most debated issues in the Criminal Justice System  is the issue of capital punishment or the death penalty.    Capital punishment was legal until 1972, when the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional in Furman v. Georgia stating that it violated the Eight and Fourteen Amendments citing cruel and unusual punishment.  However, in 1976, the Supreme Court reversed.
